Walkers' Paradise
There are so many factors to consider when looking for a future rental. Of course the most important: Location Location Location! The main concern for location is: is the neighborhood safe? To address with this concern, I recently posted a blog about LAPD website on crime stats. But there is another major concern for renters when considering location: is this location in close proximity to 'stuff'? I discovered yet another great resource for renters: www.walkscore.com rates the walkability of your neighborhood. Enter your current or future address and this site will rate it on a scale of 0-100 (100 being Walkers' Paradise). My Los Feliz neighborhood on the border of Silver Lake scored a 90. Pretty high, but I think it should be higher as I can walk to anything! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is 1-5 block away from me. The neighborhood in South West Los Angeles that I grew up in scored a 74. What does your neighborhood score?
